Edit images

Remove or change a background, expand the canvas, fix lighting, remove objects and translate text in a product photo.

The tools in the Edit group change one product photo and keep the product. Use them to make catalogue photos consistent: a clean cut-out, the same background on every product, the right shape for each channel, even light and no stray objects.

Who can use this:

Tool Permission
Remove background, Change background, Expand image, Remove object, Translate text Use basic tools (bg removal, upscale, alt text, depth map)
Fix Lighting Use generation tools (image gen, video gen)

Every plan includes these tools. Each run uses credits. The prices below are for a source photo of up to 2 megapixels. Larger photos cost more, and the run button always shows the exact price. See AI tools for how the price grows with size and where results are saved.

Remove background

Remove background cuts out the subject and returns a transparent PNG.

  1. Open AI Tools > Remove background.
  2. Add a photo.
  3. Optional: click the model button and pick a model. With BiRefNet, choose a preset under Quality.
  4. Click Remove background.

To fix an edge by hand, click Touch up after the run. Your edit becomes a new version.

Change background

Change background keeps the product and puts it on a new background.

  1. Open AI Tools > Change background.
  2. Add a photo.
  3. Describe the new background in the prompt box, for example "white marble counter, soft morning light". Some models also take a reference image of the background you want.
  4. Click Change background.

Expand image

Expand image adds canvas around the photo and fills it to match, so a tall photo can become square without cropping the product.

  1. Open AI Tools > Expand image.
  2. Add a photo.
  3. Under Aspect ratio, pick a ratio, or pick Custom and enter the Width and Height in pixels.
  4. Under Expand direction, pick Uniform to grow every side, or Left, Right, Top or Bottom to grow one side.
  5. Click Expand image.

Higher resolution. Re-renders the full image. Nano Banana 2 5

The batch version does not offer Custom: one ratio applies to every image.

Fix Lighting

Fix Lighting relights a photo with a studio-style preset and keeps the product's shape, labels, texture, background and camera angle.

  1. Open AI Tools > Fix Lighting.
  2. Add a photo.
  3. Pick a preset: Studio softbox, Natural daylight, Golden hour, Dramatic or Flatten to neutral.
  4. Optional: add lighting notes in the prompt box.
  5. Click Fix lighting.

Flatten to neutral removes harsh shadows and colour casts. It always runs on the Remove Lighting model, at 4 credits. The other presets use the model you pick:

Remove object

Remove object erases what you paint over, such as a price tag, a stand or a reflection. In Fill mode it paints something new in that area instead.

  1. Open AI Tools > Remove object.
  2. Add a photo.
  3. Under Mode, pick Remove or Fill.
  4. Paint over the object. Change the Brush size if you need to. Clear mask starts again.
  5. In Fill mode, describe what should appear in the painted area.
  6. Click Remove objects.

After the run, Remove another object keeps the result and gives you a fresh mask.

  1. Open AI Tools > Translate text.
  2. Add a photo.
  3. Under Translate to, pick the language.
  4. Click Translate.
