Text and analysis tools

Write alt text and product descriptions, translate and summarise PDFs, caption videos and make depth maps.

The tools in the Analyze group read a file and give you text or data back: alt text for an image, a product description, a translated or summarised PDF, captions for a video, or a depth map of a photo.

Who can use this: every tool on this page needs Use basic tools (bg removal, upscale, alt text, depth map). Owners, Admins, Editors and Uploaders have it by default. Every plan includes these tools.

Write alt text

Alt text describes an image for screen readers and search engines.

  1. Open AI Tools > Alt text.
  2. Add an image.
  3. Pick a Length: Short, Medium or Long.
  4. Optional: pick a model.
  5. Click Generate alt text.

If the image came from your library, click Save to image to store the text as the image's alt text. Otherwise click Copy text.

Every model costs the same. To write alt text for many images, use Batch alt text. See Batches. The library's No alt text view shows which images still need it.

Write a product description

Product descriptions writes product copy from a product photo.

  1. Open AI Tools > Product descriptions.
  2. Add a product photo.
  3. Pick a Style: Professional, Casual, Luxury or Technical.
  4. Pick a Length: Short, Medium or Long. Each option shows about how many words it writes.
  5. Pick a Language.
  6. Click Generate description.

Click Copy text to use the description. To write drafts for many products at once, select them on the Products page; see Products.

Translate a PDF

PDF translation translates the text in a PDF and keeps its layout, images and graphics.

  1. Open AI Tools > PDF translation.
  2. Add a PDF.
  3. Under Translate from, leave Auto-detect or pick the language.
  4. Under Translate to, pick the language.
  5. Under Output, pick Translated for the translation in the original layout, or Bilingual for each original page followed by a page of its translation.
  6. Click Translate PDF.

Click Download PDF to save the result. The first 10 pages cost 3 credits and each extra page costs 0.25. Studio holds the base price when the run starts and charges the rest once it knows the page count.

Summarise a document

Document summary turns a PDF, such as a spec sheet or a supplier catalogue, into notes you can use.

  1. Open AI Tools > Document summary.
  2. Add a PDF.
  3. Pick a Summary length: Brief, Standard or Detailed.
  4. Pick a Summary format: Paragraph, Bullets or Sections.
  5. Pick a Summary language.
  6. Optional: enter a Summary focus, for example "materials and care".
  7. Click Summarize.

The first 10 pages cost 1 credit and each extra page costs 0.1.

Caption a video

Video captions writes timed captions for a video or audio file, with optional translations.

  1. Open AI Tools > Video captions.
  2. Add an MP4, MOV, WebM, MP3 or WAV file.
  3. Optional: pick the languages to translate into, and a Translation model: Fast translation or Alternative translation.
  4. Click Generate captions.

Click Download VTT to save the captions. Each translation is its own VTT file with its own download button. A file with no speech returns The audio has no speech to caption.

The price is 1 credit for each started minute, plus 1 credit for each translation language. A 2-minute 30-second video with two translations costs 5 credits.

Make a depth map

Depth map shows how far each part of a photo is from the camera, in greyscale. Use it for 3D and parallax effects.

  1. Open AI Tools > Depth map.
  2. Add a photo.
  3. Click Generate depth map.

Depth map is free.
