Use Studio inside Shopify

Install the Sirv AI Studio app in your Shopify admin to fix product photos and copy, review drafts and publish them to your store.

The Sirv AI Studio app runs inside your Shopify admin. You can check your products, fix photos and descriptions with AI, review every draft and publish the approved changes to Shopify without leaving the admin. It is for Shopify merchants and their staff.

The app and the Studio web app share one workspace. A store you install the app on is the same store you see in Studio at Settings > Shopify, so products, credits, drafts and team roles are the same in both places.

Who can use this: any Shopify store can install the app. A new store starts on the Free plan with 25 credits. Plans and credit packs bought in the app go on your Shopify bill. Studio roles decide who can approve and publish changes to Shopify. Compare plans on the pricing page.

The app's screens are in English only.

Install the app

  1. Install Sirv AI Studio from the Shopify App Store.
  2. Approve the access that Shopify asks for. The app reads and writes products, files and translations, and reads your store languages.
  3. Open the app from Apps in your Shopify admin.

On the first open, the app connects your store to Studio. If you do not have a Studio account, it creates a workspace for the store. It then imports up to 250 products with their images, so you can start straight away. Nothing changes in Shopify during the import.

If you cannot find the app in the Shopify App Store, contact us.

If the app shows Continue with your Shopify login, the store is already connected to a Studio workspace, but your Shopify login is not linked to a Studio member yet. Select Continue with Shopify, sign in once, then reload the page.

Every page has two buttons in its title bar: your credit balance with Get more, and Open in Studio, which opens the full Studio web app signed in with your Shopify login.

Home

Home shows what needs your attention.

  • Set up Sirv AI Studio is a setup guide: set your brand voice, import your catalogue, choose what "ready" means, fix your first 10 products, publish to Shopify and show Sirv on your product pages.
  • Ready to sell shows how many products pass your checks.
  • Needs you lists products to fix, such as missing alt text, a main photo that is too small, too few photos or no photo. Each row has a button for the fix, such as Generate alt text or Upscale. Failed publishes appear here with Retry.
  • Running now shows work in progress. Store shows counts of products, photos and recent publishes.

Products

Products lists your catalogue with each product's status, photos, readiness score and sync state: Up to date, Shopify newer or Studio newer.

  • Use the tabs to find products that are not ready for your first sales channel, that have missing alt text or that have only one photo.
  • Select products, then use Edit to change fields on many products at once, or AI to Upscale, Remove background, Generate alt text or start a Photoshoot.
  • Run saved workflow runs a Studio workflow on the selected products. Export downloads them as a CSV file.
  • Refresh from Shopify reads the latest product data.

Open a product to see its media, description, details, attributes, checks and history. Draft with AI writes a description. The button shows its price in credits. Your changes wait in Review until you publish them.

Images

Images lists every product photo. Search by product, or describe a photo in words. Use Needs a fix to see photos that fail a check and Duplicates to find repeated photos.

Bulk Autofix makes fixes for many photos at once. Previews are free. Credits are taken when you approve the fixes in Review.

Open a photo to see its checks and details, edit it with Remove background or Expand to square, or select Find similar.

Restore an original photo

When Studio replaces a photo in Shopify, it keeps the Shopify original.

  1. Open the product or the photo.
  2. In History, select Restore original on the change you want to undo.
  3. Confirm. Shopify gets the original photo back. The replaced photo stays in Studio.

If the product changed in Shopify after the replacement, the restore waits in Review so you can compare first.

Create

Create holds the AI tools, grouped as Photos, Video and 3D and Text:

  • Photos: Photoshoot, AI model, Ghost mannequin, Remove background, Change background, Upscale, Fix lighting, Color variants, Expand, Smart crop and Combine photos.
  • Video and 3D: Product video and 3D model.
  • Text: Alt text, Descriptions and Translate.

Each tool shows its price in credits, or Free.

  1. Open a tool.
  2. Under Products, choose products or a collection.
  3. Set the options under Settings and check the Preview.
  4. Check the products and credits the run needs, then select the run button, such as Run on 5 products.
  5. When the run finishes, select Open Review.

Photoshoot makes new product shots. Choose a Look, a Scene and 1 to 4 Shots per product.

Results wait in Review. Nothing changes in Shopify until you publish. Review publishes photos only, so make videos and 3D models in the Studio web app.

Checks

Checks decides what "ready" means for each sales channel.

  1. Pick the Sales channel: Online Store, Google & YouTube, Facebook & Instagram, Amazon or My own rules.
  2. Choose the Strictness: every check blocks, only image and content checks block, every check warns, or Custom.
  3. Turn checks on or off, such as Main image, Alt text on every image, Description, SKU, Price or Barcode (GTIN).
  4. Select Save.

Products, Home and the product page block use these checks.

Review and publish

Review holds every draft that the app, Studio or a workflow made for your store.

  1. Approve or Reject each draft, or select Approve all.
  2. Select Publish with the number of approved drafts.
  3. Confirm. The dialog shows how many products change and the credits for any Bulk Autofix fixes you approved.

If a product changed in Shopify after the draft, the draft shows Changed in Shopify. Select Compare, then Keep Shopify or Use my draft. After publishing, the results show what published and what failed, with Retry for failures and Restore original for replaced photos.

Workflows

Workflows runs your saved Studio workflows on Shopify products.

  1. Select the products or photos to work on.
  2. Choose a workflow and select Run.

New workflow opens the Studio builder. A run that changes Shopify waits for approval in Studio. See Workflows.

Settings

Settings has four tabs:

  • Plan and credits: your plan, plan changes, credit packs and a table of where credits went this month. Charges go on your Shopify bill. Credit packs never expire, and Studio uses plan credits first.
  • Brand look: edit the workspace's brand context, which AI tools read.
  • Publishing: how changes reach Shopify. New photos join the product gallery, a fix replaces the photo and keeps the Shopify original, and approved drafts go to Shopify when you select Publish in Review.
  • Team and suppliers: invite staff, change roles and invite suppliers in Studio with Open Studio.

Add Sirv media to your theme

The app adds two theme app blocks to the Shopify theme editor:

  • Sirv media gallery shows the product's images, videos and 3D models. Set the number of Media items (1 to 12) and the Image width. If you publish images for each language, the gallery shows the images for the shopper's language.
  • Sirv 3D viewer shows the product's first 3D model.

To add one, open your theme in the Shopify theme editor, go to a product template, add a section and choose the block under Apps. Home shows whether the gallery is on.

Work from the Shopify product pages

  • Sirv AI Studio block: on a product page in the Shopify admin, the block shows whether the product is ready for your first channel and which checks block it. Select Fix in Sirv AI Studio to open the product in the app. Choose your checks in the app first.
  • Improve photos with Sirv AI Studio: a product action on a product page.
  • Fix photos with Sirv AI Studio: a bulk action on selected products in the product list.

Both actions open the same window. Pick the fixes (Remove background, Upscale, Generate alt text or Expand to square), check the credits and select Make drafts. The drafts wait in Review.

Automate with Shopify Flow

The app adds one Flow action and one Flow trigger:

  • Run Studio workflow runs a saved Studio workflow for a product. It needs the product and the Workflow ID.
  • Studio workflow completed v2 starts a flow when a product workflow finishes. It gives the product, the Workflow ID, the Status and an Output URL.

Ask Sidekick

Shopify Sidekick can use the app's tools to answer questions about your catalogue: find products with gaps, search products, check Shopify sync health, suggest workflows and find outputs ready to publish. These tools only read data. They do not publish, change products, run AI jobs or spend credits.

Sidekick can also open Workflows with products and a fix already chosen, such as missing alt text. You still confirm and run the workflow yourself.

Connect a store from Studio

If you start in the Studio web app, go to Settings > Shopify and select Connect Shopify. Studio asks you to install the app, because the store connects during the install.

On the same page you can:

  • Reconnect a store when the connection has expired.
  • Select Link my Shopify login so you can open Studio from the Shopify admin.
  • Import products from Shopify.
  • Turn on Staff import to add Shopify staff to the workspace with the roles you choose. Only Owners and Admins can turn it on.
  • Disconnect Shopify.

For publishing from the Studio web app and channel checks, see Shopify.

Uninstall the app

When you uninstall the app, Studio marks the store as uninstalled, removes its access to the store and disconnects the workspace from Shopify. Your Studio workspace and its files stay. Shopify asks Studio to delete the store's Shopify data about 48 hours later.
