Credits
How credits work, what each AI tool costs, what is free, and what happens when the balance reaches zero.
AI tools in Studio cost credits. Each plan includes credits every month, and you can buy credit packs when you need more. This page explains where credits come from, the order Studio uses them in, what each tool costs and what to do when they run out.
Who can use this: every member with View credit balance and usage sees the balance. Only members with Manage payment methods and subscription buy credits. By default that is the Owner. See Roles and permissions.
Where credits come from
| Source | Credits | When they expire |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 25 a month | At the end of the month. They do not roll over. |
| Core plan | 1,500 a month | Unused credits roll over for one extra billing cycle, up to 3,000. |
| Growth plan | 5,000 a month | Unused credits roll over for one extra billing cycle, up to 10,000. |
| Enterprise plan | Set in your agreement | Set in your agreement. |
| Credit packs | 500, 1,000 or 2,500 | Never. |
Studio uses plan credits first, oldest first. Pack credits are used only when plan credits run out.
See your balance
- Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar. It shows the balance, and for billing members the split between Plan and Packs, with the date of the next plan credits.
- Go to Settings > Billing > Credits for the balance, the credit history and the full price list under What things cost.
Studio shows the price of a run before you start it.
What tools cost
These prices come from the same list as What things cost on the Billing page. Each price is for one image or one run.

Some tools have their own rules:
- Large images: image prices follow the source size. At 2 MP or less you pay the listed price. Up to 4 MP costs 1.5 times, up to 8 MP costs 2 times and above 8 MP costs 3 times, rounded up.
- Video: video generation is priced for each second of video. The price depends on the model, the length and options such as sound. The tool shows it before you start.
- PDFs: the PDF Translation and Document Summary prices above cover up to 10 pages. Each extra page adds a little more. The tool shows the full price before you start.
- Video captions: 1 credit for each started minute of audio, plus 1 credit for each translation language.
- Colour variants: priced for each colour. A colour of a 360 spin costs more than a colour of a photo. The tool shows the price before you start.

AI image checks
Image checks with AI rules, such as a check for a white background, use a monthly allowance instead of credits. The allowance is 5 images for each credit your plan includes each month, and at least 200 images. Enterprise has no monthly limit. Settings > Billing > Credits shows how many you have used this month and your limit. Past the allowance, Studio stops running the AI rules until the next month.
When credits run out
Paid AI tools pause when the balance cannot cover a run. They start again when plan credits renew or someone adds credits.
- If you try a run you cannot pay for, Studio shows Not enough credits with the price, your balance and the date your plan credits come back.
- If you manage billing, click Buy More Credits or Add credits and buy a pack.
- If you do not manage billing, click Ask the owners for credits. Studio tells the owners, and you get a message when credits arrive. You can ask once a day.
When a run fails, Studio gives its credits back. The credit history shows a Refund line.
To stop running out, turn on auto top-up or set a low-balance alert. See Billing.
Buy a credit pack
| Pack | Price |
|---|---|
| 500 credits | 4,900 |
| 1,000 credits | 8,900 |
| 2,500 credits | 19,900 |
- Go to Settings > Billing > Credits.
- Click Buy credits.
- Pick a pack. The sheet shows the price for each credit. Pay with your card, or with Shopify billing, approve the charge in Shopify.
Pack credits never expire, and they stay when you change or cancel your plan. Packs are available on Free, Core and Growth.
Check where credits went
Settings > Billing > Credits > Credit history lists every charge, refund, pack and plan renewal, with the member who ran it and the balance after it. Filter by When, Who and Show, or pick a tool to see only its runs. For charts of credit use by tool and by day, open Analytics > AI usage. See Activity and analytics.
