Export for channels
Crop images to the sizes marketplaces and social networks ask for with Smart Export, and make light web copies of PSD and TIFF masters.
Each marketplace and social network wants images at its own size and shape. Smart Export crops your images for many channels at once and gives you one ZIP file to download. For large PSD and TIFF masters, web versions make lighter copies you can use in shops and on the web.
Who can use this: Smart Export needs the tools:basic permission (Owner, Admin, Editor, Uploader). Web versions need assets:write (Owner, Admin, Editor, Uploader). Cropping and web versions are free. The optional AI steps in Smart Export cost credits.
Export images with Smart Export
Smart Export works on images only. It skips videos, PDFs and PSD or TIFF masters.
- Select one or more images in the library.
- Right-click and select Smart export, or select More actions > Export on the selection bar.
- Choose the channels on the E-commerce and Social Media tabs. Use Select all to take every channel on a tab.
- Choose a Crop Strategy (see below).
- If you want, tick Upscale (2x) or Remove background. Each shows its price per image.
- Select Next: review. Check the channels and the cost.
- Select Start export. When it finishes, select Download ZIP.
The ZIP has one folder per channel. Each image is a PNG named after the file and the channel. The results are downloads only. Studio does not add them to the library.

Crop strategies
One strategy applies to every channel in the export. Each channel then gets its own size.
| Strategy | How it crops |
|---|---|
| Auto (AI) | Finds whether each image shows a product, a person or a scene and picks the crop. A product is fitted whole. A person is cropped around them. A scene uses Attention Crop. |
| Subject Detection | Finds the main subject and centres the crop on it. This is the default. |
| Attention Crop | Keeps the most visually interesting part of the image. |
| Center Crop | Keeps the middle of the image. |
To download one image at one channel's size, you can also use Download in the asset view. See Download for a purpose.
Make web versions of PSD and TIFF masters
A master is a large layered or uncompressed file, such as a PSD from your retoucher. A web version is a lighter copy for shops and web pages. The master stays as it is, and the copy links back to it.
- Select the masters in the library.
- Right-click and select Create web version… (for one file) or Create web versions (for several). You can also select More actions > Web versions on the selection bar, or More actions > Web versions in the asset view.
- Choose the Format: JPEG, PNG or WebP. JPEG is the default.
- Choose the Longest side: 1000, 2000, 3000 or 4000 px. Studio never makes a copy larger than the master.
- Select Create web version.
The web version appears in the library next to the master. JPEG copies get a white background where the master is transparent. Web versions use no AI and cost no credits.
