Spins, 3D, video and PDF
Build 360 spins and add hotspots, view 3D models in AR, add captions to video, and publish PDFs with search, layouts and product links.
The library holds more than flat photos. You can build 360 spins from a set of images, add clickable hotspots, view 3D models, caption videos and turn a PDF catalogue into a viewer with search and product links. Most of these can be embedded on your own site.

Features marked Sirv below work on files hosted in your own Sirv account. They need a connected Sirv account, which is available on the Core, Growth and Enterprise plans. See Connect your Sirv account.
360 spins
A 360 spin is a set of photos taken around a product. Shoppers drag to turn it.
Create a spin from images
You do not need a Sirv account for this. Studio stores the spin in your library.
- Select two or more images in the library. Name them so they sort in shooting order, for example
shoe-01.jpg,shoe-02.jpg. - Select More actions > Create 360 spin, or right-click and select Create 360 spin.
- Check the frames. Studio orders them by file name.
- Enter a Spin Name (optional). Studio adds the
.spinextension. - Select Create Spin. The button shows the number of frames.
Add hotspots
Hotspots are clickable points that follow a feature as the spin turns, for example a label on a zip.
- Open the spin and select Hotspots.
- Select Edit, then click the spin where the hotspot should go.
- Select Create.
- Fill in the Label, the Tooltip text and the Popover content (markdown). Add a Click URL (optional) to open a page when someone clicks it.
- Choose a style (Pulsing Ring, Pin, Numbered or Dot) and a colour.
- Drag the timeline to another frame and click the viewer to place a keyframe there, so the hotspot follows the feature as the spin turns. Right-click the timeline for keyframe actions.
- Select Save Properties, then Publish.
Hotspots show to viewers only after you publish them. Select Unpublish to hide them again.
Embed a spin
- In the Hotspots panel, select Embed, choose 600x400, 800x600 or a custom size, then select Copy Embed Code.
- Or open the spin's Embed section and copy the code there.
The code shows the spin on a public page. Viewers drag to rotate it.
Sirv spin tools
For spins hosted in your Sirv account, more tools are available. None of them uses Studio credits.
- Spin settings: right-click a
.spinfile in a Sirv folder and select Customize. Set how the spin starts, turns, spins by itself, hints and zooms. Changes save straight to the file on Sirv. - Spin to video: in the spin's More actions, select Spin to video. Set the Width (up to 1920), Height (up to 1080) and Rotations (1 to 20), then select Convert. Sirv saves an MP4 next to the spin.
- Video to spin: in a Sirv video's More actions, select Video to spin. Set the Start (seconds), End (seconds) and Frames (8 to 512), and Sirv builds a spin next to the video.
- Export for a retailer: in the spin's More actions, select Export for a retailer. Choose the Retailer and enter its product ID: Amazon (ASIN), Walmart (GTIN), Home Depot (OMSID), Lowe's (barcode), Grainger (SKU) or MSC Direct (MSC ID). Select Export, then Download the ZIP. Sirv packages the spin to that retailer's 360 rules.
3D models
Upload GLB or glTF files up to 50 MB. The viewer lets you turn and zoom the model.
- View in AR shows a QR code. Scan it with a phone to place the model in the room. You can also download the USDZ (iOS) or GLB (Android) file.
- Convert to GLB (Sirv): for USDZ, USD, OBJ, FBX, STL and Blend files in your Sirv account, select More actions > Convert to GLB. Sirv converts the file, usually in under a minute. Your Sirv plan limits how many conversions you get each hour.
- GLB optimizer makes GLB files smaller for the web. It is in AI Tools. Credits per file: 2. See Enhance.
Video
Upload MP4, MOV, WebM or M4V files up to 100 MB. The asset view plays them with standard controls.
- Video captions writes captions from the speech in a video. It can also translate them into up to five languages in one run. You download the captions as VTT files. It costs one credit for each started minute of video, plus one credit for each translation language. The tool is in AI Tools. See Generate text.
- Upscale video makes a video sharper and larger, up to 4K. The price depends on the length and output size. Studio shows it before the tool runs. See Enhance.
PDF documents
Upload PDFs up to 50 MB. Studio opens them in a document viewer.
Read a PDF
- Search document finds words in the PDF and jumps between matches.
- Choose a layout: Continuous scroll, Single page or Two-page spread. For a printed catalogue, Cover on its own, as in print keeps the cover alone and pairs the pages after it.
- Fit width and Fit page set the zoom.
- Download PDF and Print are in the toolbar. Copy link to page links straight to the page you are on.
Link products to pages
Turn a catalogue into a shoppable document: link each product photo on a page to its product.
- Open the PDF. If Studio offers it, select Open prepared view.
- Select Add product.
- Drag a box around a product on the page.
- Choose the product and select Link product.
Studio may suggest matches itself. Select Link this product to accept one or Not this product to dismiss it.
Readers then see a Products tab with Products on this page, and View in store for each one.
Embed a PDF viewer
- Open the PDF and go to its Embed section.
- Under Document viewer, turn on Publish viewer.
- Set the options: Opens as, Opens at page, Sidebar at open, Product links, Page slider, Thumbnails, Search, Links to pages, Download and print, Title bar and Theme.
- Select Copy to copy the embed code, or Open viewer to see it.
The viewer is public while it is published. Turn off Publish viewer to take it down. The panel shows how many times it was viewed.
Page on Sirv (Sirv): publish the viewer at a fixed address on your own Sirv domain. Enter the Path on Sirv, then select Publish page. Copy page address copies the link, and Remove page takes it down. The page shows the PDF only while the viewer stays published.
Embed other files
The Embed section of an image, video, spin or 3D model gives you HTML to paste into a web page. For files hosted on Sirv, it gives Sirv embed code with settings for zoom, video and 3D.
